So used these for the interior roof light. They were to be a trail and error purchase but work really good on the switched map reading lights but not so good on the automatic interior lights as not canbus compliant and continue to glow in the background. These are to be replaced with a canbus compliant type on my next order. Its not a product issue rather, a person ordering issue.
Advantages: Marked improvement in the cabin to see what you are doing. Will be really great to get canbus compliant ones on the auto interior lights.
Disadvantages: Not canbus compliant so if controlled by a module won’t work properly.

Definitely brighter than the normal 501 viewing directly from in front of the car, however they don’t spread the light as well with the reflective area of the lamp.
Advantages: Good forward facing light.
Disadvantages: Not so good at spreading and reflecting light within the lamp.

I needed a short 501 bulb to fit in the interior light. I fitted a pair of these but they did not work. I adjusted the holder's terminals to make a tighter fit but they still did not work. Fitting a different make and they worked. I tested them using a power probe and manged to get them to light up. By carefully and lightly scratching the surface of the blades I got them to work. The light is much brighter and sharper over the original 501 bulbs.
Advantages: Brighter light in an interior that was fairly dark and gloomy.
Disadvantages: Did not work without some fettling.

A good replacement for car sidelights, especially those that are contained within the headlight as they give a good light and utilise the reflector to improve their performance. Can be a little fiddly to install but then, so can the ordinary bulbs!

Easy to fit and a good replacement. Gave a bright white light. When fitting be aware that you may need to remove the bulb and turn it around and refit to get the polarity right. Test them before inserting them back into the headlamp!!
