These particular 501 LED’s are for the purpose of interior lighting but you will be able to fit these into a sidelight application. However, they will not be road legal in the sidelight application
Not Canbus Compatible - These bulbs are not suitable for vehicles that have Canbus systems. This is when you get a bulb out error up on your dashboard when the bulb fails. For cars with a Canbus system, it is recommended that you either choose a canbus compatible LED bulb or you purchase additional resistors here ->

Bought these in red to fit to my high level brake light unit. I should have checked the dimensions as they're a bit longer than the original ones fitted so wouldn't go in. Luckily I printed a spacer on a 3D printer to extend the unit enough.
Now they're in, they're great! Lovely and bright

I thought that it was too loose a fit and I was proved right when the first one fell into the headlight housing which turned into a complete nightmare since the only viable way to retrieve it was to remove the headlight entailing the bumper to be removed on my Lexus RX400h! However I then bought some TwentyTwenty 501s from ABD which were a nice firm fit and do the job brilliantly (sorry about the pun. I used the originally purchased bulb in the licence plate light holder and although still slightly loose were just about okay although I used some insulation tape to secure "just in case". My advice would be to avoid these particular bulbs and buy the TwentyTwenty ones instead.
Advantages: Look nice
Disadvantages: Too loose a fit
Our Reply: Sometimes the grip contacts in the holder can lose their "springiness" which can cause some bulbs to sit loose in the holder. Using a small screwdriver, they can usually be adjusted to close the gap and allow them to fit more snug.

Decent quality bright LED Bulbs. Used them to replace 2 of 4 lights in central rear brake cluster of previous more expensive lights had corroded with water ingress. Previous ones were aluminium body and steel contacts, a receipe for electrolysis and corrosion.
Advantages: Plastic body with steel contacts, although cheaper and less heat conductive, better suited to resist corrosion in presence of moisture in external placement

Used to replace the backlighting for the dials on my Triumph Sprint 885.
Advantages: Far brighter than the stock bulbs with the advantage of a diffused light. They run cool too. Stock lighting is white. I used green leds and the effect was to freshen the style completely.
