For most modern cars, changing a headlamp bulb involves dismantling the grill and bumper in order to remove the headlamp, so changing a failed bulb on a wet and windy Winter Wednesday night in West Wales is not pleasant. Preparing for Winter, I picked a nice day to take out one of my Osram Ultra Life bulbs and check the filaments after 18 months of use. (I've had many headlamp bulb failures after only 12 months!) The Ultra Life filaments show no visible sign of deterioration, so I expect to get another Winter (or two) out of them.

Very good. I drive 5 nights a week and had a problem with bulbs blowing on a regular basis (within 5 weeks). These last up to 6 months which is a considerable improvement. Would like them to last even longer though.
