I bought 2 pairs of bulbs to replace both dipped and main beam lights. Unfortunately there was no way I could replace the main beam bulbs. Access on my SLK was impossible (don’t you love the one liners “Remove cover and take out the bulb”) without stripping down the front of the car.
Anyway, I contacted ABD, and explained my dilemma. They requested that I return the unwanted bulbs for a full refund.

Bought these to replace a failed pair already fitted to my Freelander after a repair shop fitted a 'normal' bulb to replace a failed one. Driving down country lanes these are excellent lights and provide far better light than many a new LED unit as at least these have the range and clarity without being a pain when it is raining or foggy (LEDs just light the fog or give you a strobe effect against the rain) so highly recommended for rural use.
Advantages: Much better brightness and clarity compared to 'normal' bulbs without being as annoying as the insanely bright ultra-white LEDs and at least they are still usable in rain or fog
Disadvantages: Sadly the light which burns twice as bright doesn't last as quite long and it's a good run if you can get a year out of a pair

The Night Breaker lamps are excellent and really do aid driving at night by giving a wider and further ahead view of the road. They enable you to better spot pot holes and other hidden dangers on the road, these are my second set.
Advantages: By having improved view the journey has less stress and gives more time to take avoiding action when confronted with the unexpected.
Disadvantages: There is extra cost involved and the life expectancy of these lamps is much shorter, but of course depends on amount of night driving or poor whether coditions you drive in. For me driving 10,000 miles PA, then they last over 2 years., as a guess. I would estimate they last around half the time of the orginal lamps fittied, but well worth it for the improved view of road.

These bulbs make a beneficial replacement for the standard bulbs. I have used Osram night breakers for years and have been impressed with the performance gain over the original bulbs. I use them in my motorcycle and car and would recommend trying them for yourself. The last ones in my car lasted 8 years before one failed. The ones in my bike are 10 years old and still going.
